TEHRAN – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called on Dr Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Advisor on International Affairs to Iran’s Supreme Leader, and discussed matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-Iran relations and the regional situation.
Both leaders exchanged views on the current situation in the region following the Iran-Israel ceasefire.
The Interior Minister conveyed the best wishes of Pakistan’s political and military leadership to the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He stated that Pakistan and Iran have always stood by each other in both war and peace. He emphasised that no enemy can create a rift between Pakistan and Iran.
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, and other senior diplomats were also present at the occasion. Dr Ali Akbar Velayati is a former Foreign Minister of Iran and a seasoned diplomat.
