ISLAMABAD – National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing military aggression in Gaza, describing it as a “grave humanitarian disaster” and calling for immediate global intervention.
In meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Zaher Zaid, at Parliament House, Speaker reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic and moral support for the Palestinian cause.
Speaker expressed deep sorrow over the loss of more than 50,000 lives due to continued Israeli airstrikes, criticizing the targeting of civilians, particularly women and children. He also condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid, calling it an “unacceptable and inhumane act” that further deepens the suffering in Gaza.
“Using starvation as a weapon of war is a violation of international humanitarian principles,” Sadiq said, urging the global community to act decisively in response to what he called a clear breach of international law and basic human rights.
Commenting on regional tensions, Speaker labeled Israel’s recent attack on Iran a dangerous provocation that risks escalating into a broader conflict. He welcomed the ceasefire between the two nations and stressed the importance of peace and dialogue to avoid further instability in the Middle East.
He further voiced concern over deepening military cooperation between India and Israel, reiterating Pakistan’s consistent opposition to both Israeli policies and Indian aggression. “Pakistan has never recognized Israel as a legitimate state and considers its actions as state-sponsored terrorism,” he said.
Palestinian envoy Dr. Zaid expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its enduring support, describing the solidarity of the Pakistani people as a source of strength for Palestinians during these difficult times.
“We deeply appreciate Pakistan’s principled stance and call upon the international community to increase pressure on Israel to end its aggression,” Zaid said. He also emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian aid and diplomatic engagement to address the crisis in Gaza.
