ISLAMABAD –The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a major initiative allowing individuals who have obtained Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) based on incorrect information — whether knowingly or unknowingly — to voluntarily report their cases.
In a public notice, NADRA said individuals who come forward voluntarily will be granted legal protection, a move designed to encourage transparency and self-correction.
This initiative provides an opportunity for citizens to rectify any identity-related discrepancies without fear of immediate punitive action.
However, NADRA has also made it clear that those who fail to disclose false information may face legal action.
The authority emphasized the importance of accurate data in national security and public service delivery.
The campaign is part of a broader effort to strengthen identity verification systems and ensure that all citizens’ records are both accurate and up to date.

NADRA is urging citizens to take advantage of this opportunity and approach their nearest registration center to report any incorrect details voluntarily.
NADRA ID Card Renewal
Earlier, NADRA announced a special initiative for individuals who have lost their chip-less Computrised National Identity Cards (CNIC) or possess expired ones.
According to a public notice, citizens whose chip-less CNICs have either expired or been misplaced can now apply for renewal for an ID card with additional features at a discounted fee.
This limited-time offer aims to assist citizens in upgrading to modern identity cards that offer enhanced security and data features. NADRA urges the public to take advantage of this opportunity and visit their nearest NADRA center at the earliest.
Fee for Upgraded ID Card
NADRA has made it easier for citizens to renew CNICs, which carries additional features. Citizens can now choose from three service tiers based on urgency:
Normal Service: Rs400 – Processing time: 15 working days
Urgent Service: Rs1,150 – Processing time: 12 working days
Executive Service: Rs2,150 – Processing time: 6 working days
This applies to all CNIC-related requests, including expired chip-less cards, lost ID cards, and updates in personal details.
