ISLAMABAD – Blow to beleaguered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI as Islamabad district administration has cancelled permission for a rally in the capital city.
This decision, communicated by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, followed advice from the District Intelligence Committee.
Chief Commissioner held meeting today with Inspector General of Police (IG) Islamabad and the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, where the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously granted by the DC was reviewed.
Police officials raised security concerns due to multiple events. As a result, the Chief Commissioner decided to revoke the NOC issued on July 31.
The concerns include a planned protest in front of the Supreme Court related to the Mubarak Sani case and the upcoming arrival of the Bangladesh Cricket team.
