over 200 people were poisoned and hospitalized after eating donated food in east Afghanistan’s Khost province, according to officials on Monday.
The incident occurred in Zazai Maidan, Ban Sabari and Khost City after the people attended a donated meal.
The poisoned victims had been taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to provincial spokesperson Mustaghfar Garbaz.
According to officials, some poisoned victims, including women and children, are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the security officials said they have launched an investigation to find the reasons for the incident.
Recently, more civilians have been poisoned in ceremonies, particularly school students in some country provinces.
Nearly 150 people were poisoned earlier after eating at a wedding party in the Sang Atesh district of Badghis province. -PR
