ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Belarus reaffirmed defence cooperation in high-level Air Force visit, the military’s media wing said Thursday.
ISPR said a high-level military delegation from Belarus, led by Major General Andrei Yulianovich Lukyanovich, Commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defence, visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday. The visit aimed to enhance bilateral defence cooperation and deepen military ties between the two countries.
Major General Lukyanovich was warmly received by senior PAF officials, with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented upon his arrival. The Belarusian delegation engaged in detailed discussions with the PAF leadership, focusing on mutual areas of interest in air defence, training, and operational capability.
During the meeting, the Chief of the Air Staff reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its military relationship with Belarus. He offered continued support in training Belarusian pilots and technical personnel, from basic aviation skills to tactical-level operations. Both sides agreed on the importance of regular high-level exchanges and professional development programs to foster deeper collaboration.
Major General Lukyanovich expressed keen interest in drawing lessons from PAF’s combat-tested doctrines, and highlighted professionalism and operational experience of the Pakistan Air Force. He praised PAF’s effectiveness in complex operational environments and proposed the initiation of structured training programs for Belarusian Air Force personnel.
Belarusian commander extended an invitation to Pakistan’s Air Chief to attend major upcoming defence events in Belarus, suggesting the opportunity to further broaden bilateral cooperation and explore new strategic avenues.
