KARACHI – Pakistan Railways is set to unveil a newly upgraded, modern Business Train equipped with advanced technology to enhance the travel experience for passengers.
The train will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on July 19 at Lahore Railway Station.
The new service is an upgraded version of the existing Pak Business Express, which operates between Karachi and Lahore. According to railway officials, the revamped train will feature 28 brand-new digital coaches imported from China, offering improved safety, comfort, and functionality.
Among the notable features of the modern Business Train are free Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers and a dining car built to international standards, aimed at significantly improving onboard catering services.
While the upgraded facilities mark a new chapter for Pakistan Railways, the officials have yet to announce whether there would be any changes in ticket pricing for the new train.
The initiative is part of a broader modernization drive by Pakistan Railways.
The department is also upgrading its online ticket booking system and live train tracking mobile application to provide a more user-friendly and efficient digital experience for travelers.
In a related development, escalators have been installed at Lahore Railway Station to facilitate easier movement for passengers. Additionally, the federal government has announced a pilot project to provide free Wi-Fi at 40 major railway stations across the country.
