ISLAMABAD – Pakistan stopped diplomatic overtures over India’s alleged role in Balochistan terror as New Delhi orchestrating terrorism both within its borders and globally.
Foreign Office spox Shafqat Khan said said New Delhi’s actions are serious threat to regional peace, and there is undeniable evidence of India’s involvement in acts of terrorism in Pakistan, especially through proxies operating in restive Balochistan.
He said India’s role in destabilizing Pakistan through terrorism is well-documented and cannot be ignored any longer as he reiterated raising this issue at all relevant international platforms.
Khan also expressed concern over continued presence of terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan, calling them persistent challenge to Pakistan’s security. He said Islamabad is in ongoing contact with Afghan government and is hopeful of meaningful cooperation from Kabul to address cross-border terrorism.
Addressing past geopolitical decisions, particularly those made during 80s, Khan said historical events should be left behind. Only leaders of that era can justify their actions, and that our focus should now be on shaping a better future.
He further condemned continued human rights abuses in Indian-occupied Kashmir, expressing regret that plight of Kashmiris remains unresolved.
He confirmed that Deputy PM Dar has no plans to meet Indian officials during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. However, bilateral meetings with other leaders are being arranged.
On environmental issues, the spokesperson noted that despite contributing minimally to global emissions, Pakistan remains one of the countries most affected by climate change and environmental degradation.
