LAHORE – In a candid and entertaining interview released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), national T20 team captain Salman Ali Agha offered fans a glimpse into the lighter side of the dressing room by revealing the nicknames of several Pakistani cricketers and sharing his views on their personalities and match-winning abilities.
Salman disclosed that Saim Ayub is popularly called “Nolak Shot”, while Saud Shakeel is known as “Chora” a nickname that reflected his bold attitude. He further revealed that Babar Azam once dubbed Saud “Chhota Don” because of his confident demeanor.
Speaking about other players, Salman said Fakhar Zaman is affectionately called “Fauji” (soldier), Shadab Khan is known as “Sheedi”, and Babar Azam is often referred to as “Bobby” by the teammates. He also shared a fun fact about Mohammad Nawaz, stating, “He has his own unique style — he calls me Solomon.”
When asked which player he would trust to hit a six off the last ball in a crucial game, Salman didn’t hesitate to name Hassan Nawaz, and appreciated the young batter’s nerves while pointing to his past heroics in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
“He’s done it before — and I’d back him to do it again,” said the skipper.
