LAHORE – Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh by seven wickets in the third T20I at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday evening to sweep the series 3-0.
Chasing a challenging 197-run target for victory, Pakistan crossed the finish line with seven wickets and 16 balls to spare despite losing the key wicket of Sahibzada Farhan (1) in the opening over.
Player of the match Mohammad Haris was the top scorer for Pakistan with his career best 107 not out, followed by Saim Ayub, who made a valuable 45. Hasan Nawaz contributed 26 runs while Salman Agha made 15 not out. Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets while Tanzim Hasan Sakib got one wicket. Mohammad Haris also grabbed the player of the series award for his performance with the bat and behind the stumps.
After being asked to bat first by Pakistan skipper Salman Agha, Parvez Hossain Emon (66) and Tanzid Hasan (42) provided a solid start with a 110-run opening partnership.
Tawhid Hridoy contributed 25 runs, skipper Litton Das 22 and Jaker Ali unbeaten 15 runs to take the team score to 196/6 in the allocated 20 overs. Hasan Ali and Abbas Afridi bagged two wickets each, while Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf got one wicket each.
It is dead rubber as Pakistan has already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
