ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed on Tuesday that Pakistan and Türkiye shared a unified stance on major global and regional issues.
The DPM’s remarks came during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held in Islamabad.
Dar emphasized the deepening partnership between the two countries, highlighting that Pakistan continues to benefit from Türkiye’s vast experience across various sectors.
“The friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye is strengthening with time,” he noted, adding that the next session of the Pakistan-Türkiye Defence Committees will be held in September.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, in his address, stated that the relationship between the two nations is transitioning into a more structured and institutional partnership. He said that both countries have expanded cooperation in areas such as defense, culture, and economic affairs.
Fidan also expressed a mutual desire to elevate bilateral trade volume to USD 5 billion, underscoring the economic potential and shared vision of both governments.
The joint press conference reflects the commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to bolstering strategic ties, enhancing regional cooperation, and building a comprehensive partnership across key sectors.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defence Yasir Guler arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan on Wednesday night.
Upon arrival, they were received by Additional Secretary (West Asia), Ambassador Syed Ali Asad Gillani.
During their official engagements in Pakistan, important issues of mutual interest will be discussed.
The visit reflects the close and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, rooted in shared history, culture, and mutual trust.
