ISLAMABAD – The Directorate General of Immigration and Passport (DGI&P) issues passport to citizens of Pakistan to facilitate their journey to foreign country.
The holder of a valid Pakistan passport, when in a foreign country, is entitled to the protection of diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in the host country.
Passport is the only document that confirms that someone is a citizen of Pakistan, as well as, realizes his/her right to exit from the country and entry into the country.
As per the policy, every citizen of Pakistan is entitled to Machine Readable Passport for traveling abroad, subject to completion of all codal formalities.
Passport applicants faced massive delay in issuance of passports in several past months as the normal fee passport was issued in four or five months.
Following the complaints, the government has enhanced its printing capacity by importing several printers. Now, it is hoped that the people will start getting their passports as per the processing time available on official website of DGI&P.
What is the processing time of normal category passport?
Normal fee passport are issued after 21 working days, according to official website.
Processing time of urgent passport
Urgent fee passport are issued in 05 working days.
Processing time of Fast Track passport
Fast Track fee passport are issued in 02 working days.
