PESHAWAR – Intermittent rains and windstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. Moist currents are also penetrating northeastern parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, rains and windstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Kurram and surrounding areas on Wednesday night and Thursday with occasional gaps.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34°C and 36°C on Thursday and between 35°C and 37°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, rains and gusty winds occurred in upper districts.

Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu remained the hottest places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 38 per cent.
