ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reached Murree to participate in a crucial high-level meeting of the party’s central leadership.
The gathering is aimed at reviewing the country’s current political and economic landscape, assessing the government performance, and formulating future strategy.
The meeting comes at a time when the ruling party faces mounting public pressure over inflation, electricity and fuel prices, and governance challenges.
The sources within the party confirmed that the session would include detailed briefings while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would present a report on the federal government’s performance. CM Maryam, according to the sources, would update the leadership on the progress and initiatives of the Punjab government.
The PML-N top leaders are also expected to review the impact of recent relief measures introduced for the public, and examine the situation caused by the ongoing monsoon rains across the country.
The sources said that the decisions to reinvigorate and mobilize the PML-N at the grassroots level are also on the agenda. Nawaz Sharif, they said, would outline the party’s stance on key national issues and provide guidance on addressing the public concerns in the lead-up to future political developments.
