Recruitment for doctors in Pakistan is usually regulated, and medical professionals working in government hospitals meet specific qualifications and undergo rigorous assessments.
To further improve the standard, Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has introduced mandatory written test for doctors recruitment. The government agency has started the recruitment process for 900 doctors.
The written exam will carry a total of 100 marks and will include subjects like General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, and Geography. Also, it will cover Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Computer Science.
To qualify for the interview stage, doctors need to achieve a minimum of 40 percent on the examination. Earlier, medical officers were selected based only on mere interviews for permanent recruitment.
