RAWALPINDI – Islamabad United displayed stunning power to post a mammoth total of 235/5 against Peshawar Zalmi in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 encounter at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Despite losing Andries Gous for duck due to a sharp run-out by Tom Kohler-Cadmore, United quickly regained control through an electrifying partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro.
The duo launched fierce counterattack, adding 100 runs in rapid time to shift the momentum firmly in United’s favor. Farhan was the standout performer, notching up his maiden PSL century in just 49 balls, equaling the record for the fastest hundred by an Islamabad United player. His explosive innings of 106 off 52 deliveries included 13 boundaries and five sixes.
Munro played a valuable supporting role with a solid 40 before both batters were dismissed in the same over by West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph, who briefly halted United’s charge at 153/2.
Middle-order contributions from Salman Ali Agha (30 off 15) and Azam Khan (16) kept the scoreboard ticking, with Hussain Talat picking up two wickets for Zalmi during the middle overs.
Jason Holder and Ben Dwarshuis then closed the innings in style, remaining unbeaten on 20 and 18 runs respectively, helping Islamabad United reach an imposing total of 235/5—one of the highest in PSL history.
