PTI's Raoof Hasan suffers injuries in blade attack

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Raoof Hasan was attacked in capital city Islamabad on Tuesday.

A group of four transgenders attacked Raoof Hasan outside a channel of private news channel. The attackers managed to escape after commotion.

PTI social media handles shared clips of Raoof in injured condition. Former ruling party leaders condemned the incident and called on police to investigate the matter.

‘Shameful and sign of cowardice’

PTI strongly condemned the incident, calling it shameful and reprehensible. Imran Khan’s party also shared video footage showing Hasan bleeding from the face, with anchor Shahid Masood by his side.

The post said this reprehensible act of violence is an attack on free speech, democracy, and the rule of law. “Such disgraceful tactics will not deter Raoof Hasan or the PTI from our mission. Attempts to intimidate or silence us will only strengthen our resolve to fight for a just and equitable society,” the party said.

Hammad Azhar, Fawad Chaudhry and other PTI leader denounced the attack, saying worst period of fascism continues in Pakistan.
