KARACHI – Sindh province residents will observe Public Holiday on December 27, 2024 for the 17th Death Anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The provincial government declared December 27, 2024 Friday, a public holiday to mark 17th anniversary of Benazir Bhutto – who was assassinated on 27 December 2007 in Rawalpindi, during election rally.

A notification shared by provincial authorities said all public and private educational institutions in the province will remain closed on Friday. Banks and financial institutions will continue their operations as usual, it added.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) planned a series of events to honor the legacy of Benazir Bhutto. The main ceremony will take place at the Bhutto family’s ancestral graveyard in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana.
In addition, various rallies, memorial services, and gatherings will be held nationwide to pay tribute to the late leader.
Leaders also paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto, the first female Prime Minister of the Islamic world. She was praised for her role as symbol of inspiration. PPP workers and leaders from across Pakistan would visit her shrine to lay wreaths and attend rallies to honor her legacy.
