LAHORE – The Punjab government on Friday pledged legal, medical and psychological support to a woman who was abducted and gang-raped in Hafizabad, and vowed swift justice and accountability for the perpetrators.
On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Hina Parvez Butt, visited Hafizabad to meet with the survivor.
During the meeting, she assured the victim that the government would ensure justice is delivered and all necessary support is provided.
“The victim of abduction, sexual assault, and blackmail will be given full legal and psychological assistance,” said Hina Parvez Butt. “No stone will be left unturned in the pursuit of justice.”
According to officials, three of the suspects named in the case were killed in a police encounter, while the prime suspect remains at large. Butt directed law enforcement authorities to intensify efforts for his immediate arrest.

In a related development, the chairperson also visited the home of two children, Ahmed Ali and Arshman, who were brutally murdered after being sexually assaulted in a separate incident. She met with the grieving families and assured them of complete justice.
Butt instructed the District Police Officer (DPO) Hafizabad to ensure a transparent and thorough investigation in both cases.
“This is not just an isolated incident; it is a national tragedy,” she said. “Those who commit such heinous crimes will face the full weight of the law. Creating a safe Punjab for women and children is a core vision of the current government.”
