LAHORE – The Punjab traffic authorities have released a comprehensive performance report covering the last two weeks, highlighting significant progress in driving license issuance across the province.
According to official spokespersons, more than 132,000 citizens received regular driving licenses during the two-week period. The report further stated that over 413,000 people benefited from various licensing services across Punjab.
In addition to regular licenses, more than 135,000 learning licenses were issued, while over 139,000 citizens renewed their learning and regular licenses.
Authorities also issued over 3,300 international driving permits, reflecting growing demand among overseas-bound drivers.
The province’s modern online licensing portal continues to gain popularity, with over 71,500 users accessing services from the comfort of their homes. Significantly, more than 11,000 women availed licensing services in the same period.
DIG Traffic reaffirmed the department’s commitment to road safety, stating that a strict crackdown on unlicensed drivers is ongoing throughout the province.
The licensing drive is part of broader efforts to digitize traffic services, improve public accessibility, and enhance enforcement of traffic laws in Punjab.
Driving License Fee Update
Motorcycle (M/Cycle) license applicants will pay a test fee of Rs50, a post-test fee of Rs450, and a courier fee of Rs 480, totaling Rs930.
For a Rickshaw, the test fee is Rs100, with Rs400 post-test and Rs480 courier fee, totaling Rs880.
Car/Jeep license requires Rs150 for the test, Rs1350 post-test, and Rs480 for courier, totaling Rs1830.
Tractor (Agricultural) applicants will pay Rs50 test fee, Rs950 after passing, and Rs480 courier, totaling Rs1430.
For Tractor (Commercial), the charges are Rs100 test fee, Rs1400 post-test, and Rs480 courier fee, totaling Rs1880.
LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) license costs include a Rs150 test fee, Rs1850 post-test fee, and Rs480 courier fee, totaling Rs2330.
Invalid Carriage category is completely free except for a Rs 480 courier fee.
For combined categories, Motorcycle + Car/Jeep costs Rs200 for the test, Rs1350 after passing, and Rs 480 courier, totaling Rs 1830.
Similarly, Motorcycle + LTV involves a Rs200 test fee, Rs1850 post-test, and Rs480 courier, totaling Rs2330.
Candidates can also make regular license for the period of up to five years after paying the certain fee.
