This decision aims to allow citizens ample time to celebrate the religious festival with their families and communities. The announcement has been welcomed by residents across Punjab, who look forward to the extended break.
It is important to note that educational institutions in Punjab are already closed due to summer vacations, so this holiday announcement primarily affects government offices and other public sector departments.
Punjab government urged all departments to make necessary arrangements to ensure smooth operations before and after the holiday period.
