LAHORE – Reports about changes in schools timings have surfaced online after Punjab disaster management authority PDMA issued an alert regarding possible heatwave.

A notification was widely shared online, claiming that Punjab government revised school timings for the summer season due to extreme heat across the region.

New School Timings in Punjab

The notification, issued by the Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Department and shared on social media, stated that schools classes will be from 7:30 am – 11:30 am without any break, effective.

In reality, the update is for schools operating under Non-Formal Education Management Information System.

Punjab School Education or any relevant authority have not shared any update about the changes in school timings.

Summer Vacations in Punjab School 2024

Public and private schools in Punjab, including Lahore and Rawalpindi, will observe summer vacations starting from June 7, 2024, to August 19, 2024.

This annual break, lasting over two months, aims to protect students from heat-related health risks, with temperatures already reaching 40 degrees Celsius in Lahore.
