ISLAMABAD – Punjab government decided to mark Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28 with special events, commemorating country’s nuclear tests conducted in 1998 at Chagai, and now provincial authorities made slight changes to School Summer Vacations.
With public holiday ahead, the government made one-day delay in the commencement of summer vacations for public schools to enable full participation in Youm-e-Takbeer celebrations. As per official notification released today, schools will now remain open on May 28, which was originally scheduled as the first day of the summer holidays.
Punjab Summer Vacations 2025
After observance, summer vacations will officially start on May 29, 2025. Schools have been urged to participate enthusiastically, focusing on themes of patriotism, peace, and technological progress.
SED directed all District Education Authorities to organise special programs across region to mark Pakistan’s nuclear achievements. The day starts with special morning assembly that includes the national anthem, prayers, and a tribute to Armed forces.
Several competitions will be held at district level involving public schools, including speech contests highlighting importance of Youm-e-Takbeer and Pakistan’s emergence as nuclear power, art and poster-making contests, and performances of national songs.
