LAHORE – The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has decided to set up booths on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway for vehicle emission tests and issuance of green stickers.
Initially, the EPA will set up green sticker booths at Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu, Ravi and Kala Shah Kaku interchanges. At these booths, green stickers will be issued to vehicles after carrying out emission tests on the spot.
In addition to that, monitoring booths will be established at all interchanges in the provincial metropolis. These booths will be used to stop vehicles without green stickers from entering M2 (Lahore-Islamabad Motorway).
Punjab EPA Director General Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said that the green sticker booths will be increased gradually to facilitate the citizens. He said that emission testing of all vehicles will be completed before the start of smog season. He said that vehicles without green stickers will not be allowed to enter Lahore during the smog season.
