LAHORE – Eidul Adha or Bakra Eid is around the corner, and cattle markets in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and other cities are witnessing buyers, but people are stunned by unexpected animal prices, with cost of medium size goat starting over Rs70,000.
In major markets, goat prices are almost double as compared to previous years, while cows and bulls range from Rs1.5Lac to half million. Prices of larger animals are over Rs5Lac or more.
For camel lovers, prices start from Rs4Lac and go to over 1 million, as sellers lament big increase in price of fodder, fuel and other expenses.
