The third Islamic month of Rabiul Awwal is about to start as Muslims are waiting for Eid Milad-un-Nabi – the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Eid Milad day is marked by special prayers, Quran recitations, and praises of Prophet.
For moon sighting, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is meeting on September 4 Wednesday. The meeting will take place at Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in capital city Islamabad, and will be led by Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad.
Members of Ministry of Science and Technology, Chief Met, and SUPARCO officials will attend the meeting virtually. Members of both the Central and Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees and religious scholars will be in attendance.
Meanwhile, Zonal committees will hold parallel meetings at their headquarters in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar. Maulana Azad will later announce the moon sighting decision.
Eid Miladun Nabi Expected Date 2024
This year, Eid Miladun Nabi is expected to be on September 16, 2024 (Monday), while the final date will be announced by Ruet body in coming days.
After the official announcement, Muslim will start festivities include decorated homes, mosques, and streets, along with processions and community gatherings.
