LAHORE – Pakistan Railways has reduced 30 coaches from 16 passenger trains operating in the country.
An official notification said Pakistan Railways is facing a shortage of passenger coaches, due to which it has decided to reduce 30 coaches from 16 trains including Bolan Mail.
These trains include Khyber Mail, Tezgam, Hazara Express, Awam Express, Karachi Express, Millat Express, Zakaria Express, and Fareed Express.
In addition, Karakoram Express, Subak Raftar, Shah Hussain Express, Pakistan Express, Islamabad Express, and Sukkur Express are also among the trains from which coaches have been reduced.
The Railway Department has also reduced the number of coaches in Bolan Mail, which operates from Quetta to Karachi twice a week, from 12 to 9 instead of running it on a daily basis.
It is recalled that Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, during his visit to Quetta on March 25, had announced that Bolan Mail would run daily from April 1, a decision which has not yet been implemented.

Pakistan Railways Launches ‘Track My Train’ App
A day earlier, Pakistan Railways introduced a new mobile application that enables passengers to track their trains in real time, aiming to improve travel convenience and transparency.
The newly launched app, titled “Track My Train,” comes with a modern interface and offers live location updates, allowing users to monitor the exact position of their train, view upcoming stations, and check estimated arrival times.
According to officials from the Ministry of Railways, the previously used “Pakistan Railway Tracking System” has now been officially phased out. The new application replaces the older system, offering a more reliable and user-friendly experience.
Railway authorities stated that the initiative was taken in response to growing public demand for improved digital services in the transportation sector. The app is now publicly available and is expected to significantly enhance the overall travel experience for rail passengers across the country.
