PESHAWAR – More intermittent rains with scattered heavy and at times hefty falls are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday evening/night and the next two days.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents are expected to penetrate the central and upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also affects the upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, intermittent rains are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan on Monday evening/night and the next two days.
Heavy and at times hefty rains are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner and Mansehra. Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Galiyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi and Mardan. Heavy rains may also cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Nowshera and Peshawar.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 37°C and 39°C on Tuesday and between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rains and gusty winds occurred in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu remained the hottest places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C.
In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 77 per cent.
