ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in upper and central parts of Pakistan from Tuesday, May 27.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological department (PMD), moist currents are continuously penetrating upper and central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely enter upper parts on May 28. Under the influence of this weather system, rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are predicted in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karak and Waziristan from May 27 (evening/night) to May 31 with occasional gaps.
Windstorms with light to moderate rains are also excepted in Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, and Dera Ismail Khan from May 27 (evening/night) to May 30 with occasional gaps.
Possible Impacts and advice: Windstorms/dust-thunderstorms/hailstorms and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels in upper/central parts including Islamabad.
Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities keeping in view the weather conditions. General public, travelers and tourists are advised to take precautionary measures during the weather activity.
