A suspect, arrested on charges of abducting, raping, and murdering an 11-year-old student, was killed by his accomplices during an attempt to get him free from police custody, the police said on Sunday.
The police informed that a police team was escorting the suspect namely Ali Hassan for identification of the crime scene.
In the meanwhile, his accomplices attacked the police van near Qila Didar Sindh and attempted to get him free.
“The assailants attacked the police with indiscriminate firing but unfortunately one of the bullets hit the suspect, which proved fatal and he died on the spot,” the investigating officer said.
On Friday, the body of an 11-year-old student was found in the fields. Her medical report revealed she was raped and killed.
The child was kidnapped on her way back to school. Hassan had confessed to his crime during questioning.
The Qila Didar Singh Police have registered case of the incident and arrested the suspect.
On Saturday, parents along with family members, relatives and civil society activists took to the streets, demanding public hanging for the culprit who killed the 11-year-old girl merely to fulfil his satanic designs.
