However, recent observations reveal a departure from these values, with officers prioritizing document checks over traffic management responsibilities. This shift in focus has led to increased instances of traf-fic congestion, highlighting the urgent need for reform. One of the primary challenges facing the Motorway Police is the practice of stopping heavy trucks for document checks. While these checks are essential for ensuring com-pliance with regulations, the timing and location of these interventions often contrib-ute to traffic jams. To mitigate this issue, the Motorway Police must adopt a more strategic approach to document checks, scheduling them during off-peak hours or util-izing technology-enabled solutions to minimize disruption to traffic flow.
Furthermore, the manner in which document checks are conducted can also impact traffic efficiency. Officers should strive to streamline the inspection process, utilizing mobile checkpoints or automated verification systems to reduce the time vehicles spend stopped on the road.
