ISLAMABAD – Justice Salahuddin Panhwar on Friday withdrew himself from the 11-member Constitutional Bench of Supreme Court hearing review petitions against ruling in the reserved seats case.
As the bench resumed hearing, Justice Panhwar said Sunni Ittehad Council lawyer Hamid Khan had raised objection over some judges of the bench.
Justice Salahuddin added. “I am also among those judges whose inclusion in the bench was objected to after the 26th Constitutional Amendment. Public trust in the judiciary is essential”.
“Mr. Hamid Khan, are you listening? Can you hear me or not?” he said and remarked: “I was saddened by your remark about bias.”
This is a developing story….
