ISLAMABAD – All educational institutions including schools will remain closed across the country on first day of the upcoming month May 2024.

The schools in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas of the country will observe a public holiday on May 1 (Wednesday) on the account of Labour Day.

The Cabinet Division has notified the May 1 as public holiday in a circular listing public holidays for the year 2024.

International Labour Day is observed across the world, including Pakistan on May 1 every year, with a renewed pledge to protect the rights of workers.

Various public and private organizations held events such as conventions, seminars, rallies, walks, and webinars to commemorate the supreme sacrifices.
