Sean Dyche is expected to be named the new manager of Everton in hope that the Englishman will be able to guide them to Premier League safety after an underwhelming season.
The former Burnley boss will replace Frank Lampard in the role.
The former Chelsea and England great was recently let go from his post after failing to turn around Everton’s season leaving them 19th in the league table and in a very precarious situation.
The Merseyside club are in real danger of being relegated from England’s top-flight competition with only Southampton sitting lower than them.
Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri failed to convince the former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa to take over, leaving Dyche as their last-gasp option.
Sean Dyche, meanwhile, is renowned for saving his teams from relegation albatross and Everton will be hoping he can replicate the same for them. The Englishman is expected to take over in a short-term deal which is expected to be lengthened if the 51-year-old manages to steer them to safety.
In a cruel act of fate, Dyche’s first two games in the Premier League with Everton will come against the league leader Arsenal before his side faces Liverpool at Anfield the following gameday in the Merseyside Derby.
