Shadab Khan ruled out of South Africa and Zimbabwe tours

LAHORE – Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan has been ruled out of from further participation in the ongoing South Africa tour and upcoming Zimbabwe tour after suffering a left toe injury while batting during the second One-Day International.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the injury has sidelined Shahdab for up to four weeks from the sports.

“X-rays conducted following the match revealed an “intra articular communicated fracture” though there is neither any displacement nor angulation. The injury will be treated conservatively and Shadab will undergo a four-week rehab,” the statement read.

The spinner taking to Twitter explained how he got the injury. He wrote: “Ball hit me on the toe while batting which has ruled me out of the tour. I am working very very hard and giving it my all, I have not been able to perform at the level I want to but hard work will InshAllah pay off. InshAllah I will bounce back and win matches for Pakistan”.

The third and final match of the ODI series will be played between Shaheens and Protease on Wednesday.

Currently, the series is levelled at 1-1 as first match was bagged by the visiting Pakistan team and second was won by the host team despite Fakhar Zaman’s heroic 193 scores.
