SIALKOT – For the first time in Pakistan’s history, Sialkot district has emerged as a model of gender inclusion in provincial bureaucracy, with women appointed to all top administrative roles.
The district is now led by a female Deputy Commissioner and women Assistant Commissioners in all four of its tehsils.
This milestone comes under the leadership of the province’s first female Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and marks a significant step forward for gender representation in public administration.
Grade-19 officer Saba Asghar Ali formally assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot on April 27, 2025, becoming the first woman to ever hold this position in the district.
Since her appointment, DC Saba has focused on key areas such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, and public welfare. Her efforts have been widely appreciated by both her colleagues and the local community.
A career civil servant in the Pakistan Administrative Service, Saba Asghar Ali has previously served in various administrative and policy-making roles at both provincial and federal levels.
Known for her meticulous planning, transparency, and citizen-centered governance, she continues to emphasize public engagement and accountability in all aspects of administration.
Furthermore, Sidra Sattar is serving as AC Pasroor, Sadia Jaffar AC Daska, Anam Babar AC Sialkot while Ghulam Fatima is serving as AC Sambrial.
