Deciding to speed up work on the new model bazaar project, provincial minister Mian Aslam Iqbal says he will take all necessary steps to provide relief to the inflation-stricken people.
A meeting was held at the Civil Secretariat under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal.
In which the progress on the model market expansion project was reviewed.
It has been decided to further improve the facilities in the existing model markets.
Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal said that people were getting essential items at discounted rates in 32 model bazaars of the province.
The establishment of new model markets will provide relief to the people as well as create new employment opportunities.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said that model bazaars would be set up in every tehsil of Punjab which would be environment friendly.
The provincial minister directed to seek approval from the Department of Industry and Commerce for setting up new model markets.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Industry and Commerce Wasif Khurshid and Punjab Model Bazaar Management Company.
