Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology hosted a prestigious special convocation at Governor House Sindh, where the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Hamid Abbas Ali Al-Mushari, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Lit) degree in recognition of his diplomatic services, efforts in promoting regional peace, and strengthening bilateral cooperation with Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, acknowledged the unwavering support of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and other friendly nations for Pakistan amid recent global challenges.
He also praised Ambassador Hamid Abbas Ali Al-Aramashari’s contributions toward fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and Iraq.
On this occasion, Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Akbar Ali Khan, stated, “Sir Syed University has always played a key role in promoting knowledge and fostering diplomatic relations.
Hamid Abbas Ali Al-Mushari’s efforts have further strengthened friendly and educational ties between the two nations.
This honorary degree is a recognition of his exceptional diplomatic role, and we hope to see even stronger relations between the two countries in the future.
” The event was attended by Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, Bakheet Atiq Al-Rumaiti, Consul General of Türkiye, Jamal Sango, and Consul General of Oman, Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari, highlighting the importance of international diplomatic engagement and mutual cooperation.
Additionally, at the Governor House event, honorary D.Litt degrees were also conferred upon Mrs.Maryam Ali Muhammad (wife of Consul General of Oman), distinguished industrialists Shahbaz Zaheer and Farrukh Mahtab, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.
Attendees hailed the convocation as a reflection of Pakistan-Iraq friendship and strengthened diplomatic relations.
The ceremony was graced by Vice-Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Afzal Haq, Registrar Syed Sarfaraz Ali, and other prominent social figures.
The event concluded with honorary shields being presented to distinguished guests, while Sir Syed University’s administration expressed gratitude for the successful execution of this grand convocation.
