THE killing of innocent school children in Khuzdar is the latest example of India’s state sponsored terrorism aimed at destabilization of Balochistan and should serve as an eye-opener for the international community as far as the roots of terrorism in the region are concerned.
At least five people, including three young female students, were killed and 43 others injured in a suicide attack carried out by Indian proxies on a bus belonging to the Army Public School (APS) in Khuzdar on Wednesday.
Around 49 students—both boys and girls—along with drivers and a helper, were travelling in the bus when a powerful explosion occurred nearby, completely destroying the vehicle.
The attack on a bus carrying children to the Army Public School is manifestation of utter frustration of the enemy, which was humiliated in the recent war and is making attempts now to avenge its defeat at the hands of valiant defence forces of Pakistan.
However, this dastardly act has further exposed the dirty role India is playing in fomenting terrorism in Pakistan, a fact fully documented in dossiers that Islamabad, long before, presented before the United Nations and important capitals.
It was in this backdrop that Pakistan, on Wednesday, called on the international community to take urgent notice of India’s use of morally indefensible tactics, particularly the deliberate targeting of children through state-sponsored proxies, following the explosion in Khuzdar.
A statement by the Prime Minister Office said the school bus carrying innocent children was targeted by “Indian-sponsored proxies (Fitna Al Hindustan) which the world has largely come to know as the epicentre of instability in the region”.
It added that sequel to gross failure to intimidate Pakistan through overt military means; dastardly terrorist incidents are being orchestrated through their proxies at an intensified scale in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, deliberately targeting civilians in a futile attempt to destabilize Pakistan.
These terrorist groups — masquerading under ethnic pretences — are not only being exploited by India as instruments of state policy, but also stand as a stain on the honour and values of the Baloch and Pashtun people, who have long rejected violence and extremism.
Pakistan has expressed the resolve that architects, abettors and enablers of this crime will be held accountable and brought to justice and the truth about India’s cunning role, a real perpetrator of terrorism but feigns as a victim, stands exposed before the world.
It is a matter of concern that personnel of law enforcing agencies, their family members including school going children and state symbols are constantly under attack by militants trained, armed and funded by India.
However, despite all this, some political parties and elements are indulging in venomous propaganda against the federation in the name of so-called human rights.
Those who oppose legal actions against trouble-makers and hard-core criminals, never care to issue any statement over such gruesome attacks on members of the law-enforcing agencies and their families.
This amounts to extending virtual support to anti-state elements and their masters whose only aim is to destabilize Pakistan and create obstacles in the way of progress and development in Balochistan and KP.
The State has exercised restraints because of political expediency but the situation has taken a dangerous turn and cannot be allowed to go on.
We wholeheartedly support the appeal of the Prime Minister and the Army Chief, who have highlighted that it’s now time the nation displays a very strong resolve similar to the one shown recently against the aggression by India, to bring the fight against foreign-sponsored terrorism to its logical and decisive end.
The challenge is complicated and difficult but our law-enforcing agencies have demonstrated their capability to confront it at all levels and on all fronts.
As for India, Pakistan must confront it with undeniable evidence of its support to militant groups in any future talks and also share the proof with the world.
