LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 97 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees during operations in LDA-controlled areas last Friday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 26 buildings in Gulberg and Faisal Town, 50 in Johar Town, Shadman, Shah Jamal and on Canal Bank Road, and 21 in Mustafa Town and on Wahdat Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Step School, Bascule School, Lecole School, English Grammar School, Dental Arts, Shifa Medical Centre, Zara Noor Makeup Studio, Huma’s Signature Salon, workshops, grocery stores, restaurants, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in LDA-controlled areas.
