ISLAMABAD – Millions in Pakistan are struggling to afford Sui Gas due to repeated price hikes in recent years as rising costs forced many families to cut back on usage.
The situation worsen as Sui Gas Fixed Charges have been increased for domestic consumers from July 1 as govt approves hike in monthly Gas Charges from July 2025. From next month, domestic consumers across the country will see increase in fixed monthly charges for Sui gas, following a decision approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet.
While per-unit gas tariffs for households will remain unchanged, the revised fixed charges are part of the government’s efforts to improve cost recovery and maintain gas infrastructure. The adjustment, proposed by the Petroleum Division for the fiscal year 2025–26, aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of the gas supply network.
