ISLAMABAD – The police on Tuesday arrested the primary suspect in the murder of TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was shot dead at her residence in Islamabad a day earlier.
The police said that the suspect fled to Faisalabad immediately after committing the crime. The law enforcement officials were able to trace and apprehend him with the help of CCTV footage and advanced surveillance technology.
The accused has been identified as Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, who is reportedly a TikTok content creator himself. He allegedly claimed to be a friend of the victim.
Sana Yousaf was found shot multiple times at her home in Islamabad on Monday, in what appears to be a targeted killing. The tragic incident sparked public outrage and renewed calls for greater protection of women and online influencers.
The police officials stated that the further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the killing and whether the others were involved in it.

Law enforcement officials suspect that the perpetrator may have been acquainted with the victim and possibly present in the house as a guest prior to the attack. “The suspect entered the home, fired multiple shots, and escaped,” a police official reported.
Sana’s body has been moved to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a post-mortem examination. Investigators are continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend the killer.
