ISLAMABAD – The Government of Sweden has announced the resumption of visa services in Islamabad effective from 7 July 2025.
The development comes after the Bilateral Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Sweden, held in Stockholm on 2 July 2025.
With the resumption of the service, Pakistani nationals can apply for a Schengen visa from within Pakistan for visits to Sweden of up to 90 days.
“Pakistan welcomes this positive development, which reflects the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The Pakistani delegation to the Bilateral Consultations in Stockholm was led by the Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), while the Swedish side was headed by the Director General for Global Affairs from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it added.
Sweden Schengen Visa Fee in Pakistan
The standard Schengen visa fee for adult applicants stands at 90 Euros, and for children aged 6 to 12, it is 45 Euros.
Bank Statement for Sweden Visa
Bank statement is one of the most important documents when a Pakistani applies for short-term Schengen visa of Sweden, a European country, as it serves as a proof that the applicant has sufficient funds to finance his/her stay in the host country.
A strong bank statement increases chances of the visa approval and an applicant can face rejection it fails to satisfy the embassy about the funds.
Proof of Funds
As per the rules, the applicant can submit the bank statement as proof of funds along with the visa application. The statement shows that the visitor owns enough funds to bear expense for stay in Sweden.
Minimum Bank Statement for Sweden Visit Visa
For Sweden schengen visa, applicants are required to submit bank statements showing transactions in the last six months.
Reports said the daily required amount for a tourist is 80 Euros to bear expense of stay in Sweden. It means the applicants must hold 7,200 euros in their bank account if they intend to stay in Sweden for 90 days.
As of 8 July 2025, one euro is equal to Rs337.6, so the Pakistani applicants are required to have around Rs2.4 million in the bank account at time of applying the schengen visa.
