ISLAMABAD – Good news for car buyers in Pakistan, as prices of imported vehicles, including Toyota Vitz, will come down as government revised import duties for new fiscal year.
Under the updated structure, the total duty on 1.3-1.5 engine vehicles like Vitz has been reduced from 174pc to 165pc, after one percent cut in Additional Customs Duty and a 5pc drop in Regulatory Duty.
After government’s recent revisions to import duty structure for vehicles, prices of popular imported models such as the Toyota Vitz are seeing noticeable drops, offering some relief to consumers amid high inflation and a weak rupee. As per newly announced duty rates for the 2025 fiscal year, a reduction in total duty will make some difference in prices, ranging from 50,000 to 1.25-1.30 Lac for used Toyota Vitz units.

Authrtieis revised vehicle import duty structure for the fiscal year 2025 through newly issued SROs, aiming to ease the overall tax burden while still maintaining revenue. Under these changes, Additional Customs Duty (ACD) has been revised from 7% to 6% across all imported vehicles.
Regulatory Duty (RD) has also been lowered, especially for SUVs and 4×4 vehicles with engine sizes between 1801cc and 3000cc, where RD has dropped from 90pc to 40pc while RD on cars under 1800cc and hybrid vehicles has been cut from 15% to 10%.
Non-hybrid vehicles have seen largest duty relief, with reductions ranging from around 14% to nearly 16%. Mid-sized vehicles (1301–1800cc) experienced smaller decreases of around 4–5%, while commercial vehicles like vans and pickups saw marginal reductions. Hybrid vehicles received moderate relief of about 2.7%, suggesting a cautious encouragement of fuel-efficient technologies.
