The illegal possession of wild animals, including big cats like lions and tigers, remains a serious issue in Pakistan.
Many exotic animals are kept in private homes or farms without proper permits or safety measures, posing grave risks to both the owners and the public. These animals often escape, leading to dangerous attacks as well as legal and ethical concerns.
Authorities and wildlife conservationists have repeatedly warned against the private ownership of wild animals. Such practices not only endanger human lives but also violate wildlife protection laws and threaten animal welfare.
The government continues to work on strengthening enforcement of regulations and raising public awareness to curb illegal exotic pet keeping in the country.
