UK introduces ETA Fee for THESE passengers; Check full countries list

LONDON – United Kingdom continues to roll out new travel schemes, and in recent development, there are an international expansion of its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system which is starting from January next year.

Passengers coming from US, Europe, Australia, and Canada will pay to enter Kingdom and it will help the government to digitise border. Citizens of European nations will also be required to have an ETA starting April 2, 2025.

UK is enhancing border security and better managing migration. The ETA system, which was initially rolled out in November 2023 with a pilot program for Qatar, has since expanded.

As of early 2024, countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, and Oman are also part of the ETA scheme. British government said people from 49 countries and territories need to apply for the ETA. This authorization will be mandatory for entry into UK from January 8, 2025.
