ISLAMABAD – Sexual violence affects women in Pakistan and across the world, and a recent disturbing incident was reported in Islamabad’s E11 sector where a female student of a private university was gang raped by her classmates.
The heinous incident was reported in the jurisdiction of Shalimar Police Station area of the federal capital.
Cops lodged a case on the victim’s complaint, and are conducting raids to apprehend the accused men.
The victim approached Shalimar police station and narrated the ordeal she faced at a flat in Sector E11 of Islamabad. The incident occurred on January 30, the victim said she went to E-11/2 with one of the students along with his other friend for a meal but was sexually abused.
The student told cops that one of her classmates Zaheer and his friend Daniyal sexually assaulted her and the duo even filmed her. Zaheer and his friend also threatened the victim to leak the clip if she shared the incident with family or police, FIR said.
The second gang rape in Islamabad’s E11 sent shockwaves among the residents of federal capital as sexual violence is rooted in deeply ingrained societal issues.
