LAHORE – Monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Khushab, Sheikhupura, Multan, Khanewal, Bakkar, Layyah, Mianwali, Taunsa and Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday night and the next two days. Isolated heavy rains and windstorms are likely during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 37°C and 39°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, rains and gusty winds occurred in parts of the province.

Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. The maximum temperature in Bahawalpur was recorded at 40°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.
