LAHORE – Intermittent rains and windstorms are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday and Friday.
Isolated heavy rains and hailstorms are also expected during the period.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will affect the upper part of the country from tomorrow.
Under these conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Wednesday night. However, rains and windstorms are expected at isolated places in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Khanewal and Bahawalnagar.
On Thursday and Friday, intermittent rains and windstorms are expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Okara, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur.
Isolated heavy rains and hailstorms may also occur during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 41°C and 43°C on Thursday and between 39°C and 41°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas. However, rain occurred in scattered places.

Bhakkar remained the hottest place in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. The maximum temperature in Sahiwal and Sargodha was recorded at 43°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 22 per cent.
