ISLAMABAD – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Friday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents penetrate the southern parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also affects the upper and central parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected in the twin cities, and parts of Punjab, Balochistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday night and the next two days with occasional gaps.
Heavy rains are also expected at isolated places in upper/south Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, south Punjab and north Balochistan during the period. Heavy rains may generate flash floods in hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Sibi, Loralai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur and Turbat. Landslides/mudslides may cause road closures in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Saturday, between 35°C and 37°C on Sunday, and between 36°C and 38°C on Monday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 36°C and 38°C on Saturday, between 37°C and 39°C on Sunday, and between 38°C and 40°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, rain with isolated heavy falls occurred in south/northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours.

Nokkundi and Dalbandin remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Rohri, Khairpur, Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro, Sukkur, Turbat and Panjgur was recorded at 41°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 57 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
